Will this campaign actually make money?
Before you spend on direct mail, Facebook, Google, or a magazine ad, run the numbers. See your cost per customer, the point where the campaign pays for itself, and an honest ROI, first sale and lifetime.
No tool can promise a response. What you actually get depends on your offer, your targeting, your creative, your timing, and your follow-up. This shows you the math so you can make a clear-eyed decision.
How it works
Enter your numbers
Your campaign cost, how many people it reaches, and a few facts about your business. Not sure? Start from industry defaults.
We run the math
Responses, customers, cost per customer, break-even, and ROI, calculated two ways: first sale and lifetime.
You get a clear call
A straight verdict, plain-English explanations, warnings where the numbers are risky, and a spreadsheet to keep.
Why two ROI numbers, and why we lead with the lower one
This calculator is intentionally conservative. It leads with what you earn on the first sale, because a campaign that only works after years of repeat business is a riskier bet than one that pays for itself up front. Strong retention is real and valuable, so we show the lifetime view too, clearly labeled. If the first-sale number works, you have a solid campaign. If only the lifetime number works, you have a campaign that depends entirely on your follow-up.
Common questions
Where do the default numbers come from?+
Public industry benchmarks, shown as ranges. They are midpoints to get you started, not promises. Replace them with your own numbers for a real estimate, and anything you leave on a default is flagged in your results.
What counts as a response?+
Any action you are paying to get: a call, a click, a form fill, a walk-in, a redemption, or a reply. It is the share of people reached who raise their hand, before anyone actually buys.
Why are there two ROI numbers?+
The first counts only the first sale, which is conservative and honest. The second counts repeat and lifetime value, which is a fuller picture but depends on your follow-up and retention. We show both so you can see how much of the case rests on customers coming back.
Can this guarantee my campaign will work?+
No, and be skeptical of anything that claims it can. Your actual response depends on your offer, your targeting, your creative, your timing, and your follow-up. This tool shows you the math behind a decision; it does not run the campaign for you.
Is my data saved?+
Nothing is stored unless you choose to email yourself the breakdown. The calculation runs in your browser.
